Rainbow Cupcakes!

I made these cupcakes for my daughters 5th Birthday, she wanted a rainbow party, so I delivered!  These were really fun to make!  I used Italian Meringue Buttercream for the 'clouds' and candy rainbows. Enjoy!

I used vanilla batter and divided it into six parts and dyed each part a color of the rainbow, the effects are amazing!! I may have been more excited about it than the kids...

Beautiful!

Cupcakes!

I have decided that I love doing cupcakes!! They are so fun and have so much potential to be amazing!  This is a wedding in January. There are 5 dozen regular size cupcakes, 1/2 chocolate and 1/2 white, and 2 dozen mini cupcakes, also half and half.  I made pinwheels out of fondant, and put them on lollipop sticks with a rhinestone in the middle, and lots and lots of sprinkles!  (I only made the cupcakes in these pictures.)

Baby Shower Balloons!

I finally did another cake! Thanks Brandi S.!
I did this one for a friend of mine's sister who is about to have a baby girl. These cakes are pound cake, so they hold their shape well. (cake doesn't like to be round!)  They are a variation of the balloons I had done before, we just did a light purple to match the light pink. They turned out so cute! ( sorry for the awful pics, I totally forgot my camera and had to use my cell phone!)
Thanks for looking!

My Little Pony Rainbow Castle Cake

I did this cake for my daughters 5th birthday party. She wanted a My Little Pony party, so we did this cake and made up little goodie bags with pony stuff in them. This is the same cake I have done a few times before with different color combinations. I just love it so much, it's so simple, but you can tailor it to just about anything. It would be a beautiful wedding cake all done in white... Maybe someday! The cakes are 10 and 6 inches. The ponies I used are some I got off ebay. Everything is done in buttercream and royal icing except for the little flowers and the yellow shingles, they are fondant.

Ladybugs request

I heard that someone was wanting to see this cake, (you know who you are, you blogstalker!!) so here it is!! I did this cake for my sister-in-law's little sister, she wanted a ladybug cake, so I delivered! This cake was really fun to make, I loved doing the leaves. The antennae certainly finished these cute little bugs! Enjoy!

Wedding cakes!

These are all the wedding cakes I have done, not very many, but I'm working on it! This is the first wedding cake I ever attempted!, I think it was my first tiered cake too! My parents eloped when they got married, and they never got a wedding cake, so for my mom's 42nd birthday she got a wedding cake! the top tier was pumpkin chocolate chip with chocolate ganach filling, yummy!!!This is the first wedding cake I ever got paid for! The roses were from costco and not at all in bloom, so we had to run to a florist and buy more roses to try and fill in the gaps, I will NEVER do that again, I use my own florist now! I don't recommend using a place that just sells flowers, always go with a florist that knows what they are doing and will be there to help! This is the back of the cake, the front looked better, live and learn!
This is the next cake I got paid for, it was for a good friend of mine for a December wedding, this time there was a florist and it all worked out great! It was insane timing though, it was 6 days after the previous cake and I had a 3-year-old, 18 month old and a 2 month old baby and they all had stomach flu! The craziest week of my life!! (they were quarantined away from the cake) I also made the beaded topper for the cake, that was fun! The tiers were alternating fudge chocolate and white cake, the "glitter" is from a course sugar, I fell in love with this technique, as you can tell by the next cake...I did this cake for my brothers wedding last August, I had to use some persuasion to get his wife to go along with the sugar on the cake, but she was so happy with the results! I worked right along with the florist who came to the site and individually set each flower, they did an amazing job! I love Bloomers!! This cake was also crazy because I was in the wedding party with my husband and little kids. I love to do cakes and is was great because I was standing in the line and got to literally see everyone's reaction!

I'm back!

I finally got the internet up, so here are some more cake photos!

These are all Birthday cakes I have done for people (including myself!)

This is one of the funnest cakes I have ever done! My daughter got invited to a fancy nancy party for a little girl turning 6 and the theme was Fancy Nancy, so I called and solicited my talents for cheap! Because why would I pass up the opportunity to make a Fancy Nancy cake!! My girlfriend up the street helped me do it, and we had a blast!

This cake was for my dad! my thoughts were following that painting that has the melting clocks
hanging all over the place. I was a little nervous posting this because I have spent way too much time laughing at the cakewrecks blog! (worth your time, http://www.cakewrecks.blogspot.com/

This was my first attempt at the topsy turvy cakes! I haven't made one since, we'll see......

This one was for my brother-in-law and his son who are two days apart in January. They like to hunt.......

I made these cakes for my other daughters 2nd birthday party, we had a ton of balloons for her! They ended up not tasting very good, because I tried a new recipe, (only doable on family, they love me no matter how dry the cake is!) but I loved how they looked!

This is the one I made for my own birthday. No, it doesn't bother me, or my husband! I wanted to try these butterflies I had read about in one of my cake books! They are so fun! it's the same concept as the dragonfly cake.
